Task

We All Want Options!

  • Your client is requesting a wide range of options for their brand/logo. You will use the design elements and principles to draw 16 different versions of the brand- each emphasising one of the design elements or principles.

  • You can decide your client's product. It could be an existing product or something as simple as an animal.                                                                {Keep in mind you will be drawing freehand so choose something simple!}

  • Use the grid on the resources page to draw your 16 designs (4" x 4")

  • Choose one that best represents your client's interest (which works best with your product/brand/logo) & annotate- stating why you've chosen this one.

  • Refine this design further (possibly incorporating things that worked well from other drawings?) to best represent your client's product/brand/logo.

  • This drawing should be at least 8" x 8" and take you 1 week (4 classes).

  • This unit will also include 7 short digital tasks to support your brand, furthur explore the design elements and principles and review your Photoshop skills in preparation for your future work. These are basic tasks that should not take you more than 15 minutes maximum each. You will have step by step videos for each of these available on the video page.

  • By the end of this unit you will be able to use freehand drawing techniques and Photoshop to manipulate the design elements and principles in your visual communications.
